Is it efficient to have a circulating pump system in a single family?

Q: Is it efficient to have a circulating pump system in a single family residential application? (E.g. water savings from not having to run water longer to get desired temperature vs. running circulating pump continuously) It appears sufficiently efficient to us. It reduces starts and stops of our 3/4 HP well water pump. Any heat loss becomes part of our heated crawlspace environment. It reduced load to our septic system. I think the circulating pump motor is 60 watts, runs less than 1/3 of the day, and its energy also contributes to heating our house. The system was undetectable on our monthly gas and electric bills. More than anything, it is so nice to have pleasant and effective temperature water on tap to rinse hands, face and dishes. We place value on that!
